Flower Delivery on Ninth Street, Brightleaf and Around Durham

Hidden Door Floral Studio delivers flowers to Ninth Street, the Brightleaf District and the Durham neighborhoods around them. Every arrangement is made to order in our studio in Northwest Raleigh. The designer photographs the finished piece and sends you the picture before it leaves, and then one of our own drivers brings it over to Durham. This guide walks through the parts of the city we visit most, with a few notes on getting flowers to each one.

Ninth Street and Trinity Park

Ninth Street sits close to Duke, a lively run of independent shops and restaurants that has kept its own character for a long time. We deliver to the apartments near Duke’s East Campus, to the homes on the side streets and to the businesses along the street itself. For an apartment, put the building and unit number on the order. Our drivers know the local complexes, and the recipient gets a text from us when the driver is on the way.

A short walk from Ninth Street, Trinity Park has tree-lined streets and homes dating back to the early 1900s. It is one of the loveliest places in Durham to deliver in any season. Watts-Hillandale and Old West Durham are close by as well, each with a feel of its own, and both are regular stops for us. A birthday piece for a desk or a kitchen counter travels well here; so does a larger arrangement for a front room with tall windows.

Brightleaf Square and the Brightleaf District

Brightleaf Square brings shopping and dining into renovated red-brick tobacco warehouses from the early 1900s, and the old brick gives the whole district a warm, handsome look. Around it, the Brightleaf District is full of offices, and our office runs in Durham come here often.

For a business address, mark it as commercial at checkout and add the suite number or floor. That helps our drivers through larger buildings. Where everything goes to a front desk, the recipient still gets our text when the driver is on the way. Brightleaf at the Park is on the route too.

Downtown and the American Tobacco Campus

The American Tobacco Campus is a 16-acre complex of renovated factory buildings and warehouses, with a man-made stream running through the middle and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park right next door. Offices, restaurants and event spaces fill the buildings. One of those spaces is Bay 7, inside the Washington Building beside the Lucky Strike Tower, where we design wedding flowers.

A few blocks away, The Durham Hotel occupies a 1968 bank building on East Chapel Hill Street that reopened as a hotel in 2015. Its rooftop looks out over downtown, and Brightleaf Square, the ballpark and the Durham Performing Arts Center are all within a ten-minute walk. Our drivers bring flowers to the hotel, too. Put the guest’s full name on the order so the front desk can find them.

Downtown also holds the galleries and performance spaces of the Warehouse District, the Durham Food Hall and the restaurants along Broad Street. Golden Belt, a converted industrial space with an artistic streak, is another favorite stop. Office openings, gallery nights and staff celebrations all bring orders our way.

Getting flowers across Durham

Durham orders travel from our Raleigh studio, and the roads shape the day. Duke comes by I-40 or Highway 147, and we plan each Durham run around the traffic. You get an email when your order is out for delivery and another once it has been delivered.

At a house, if nobody answers, the arrangement goes to a covered porch or to a neighbor, in the shade, with a note or a text saying where. For someone at Duke University Hospital on Erwin Road, we deliver to the front desk and information station, and hospital staff take the flowers up to the room. Give the patient’s full name. For a service, we coordinate with Clements Funeral & Cremation Services on Broad Street and Hall-Wynne Funeral Service on West Main Street downtown. Every other part of the city we serve is listed on our Durham flower delivery page.
