Flowers for American Tobacco District

Flowers for American Tobacco District | Durham Flower Studio

The american-tobacco-district is 16 acres of adaptive reuse at the center of downtown Durham — a shuttered Lucky Strike campus transformed into one of the most walkable, hospitality-heavy districts in the state. Eighty-five businesses operate here. Four thousand people work here. Historic brick warehouses house pharma offices, tech incubators, fine-dining restaurants, a 2,700-seat performing arts theater, and a minor-league baseball stadium. Work, culture, and celebration run on the same calendar. We design flowers for the people and occasions that keep the district moving.

Flowers for ATC venues

  • Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) — opening-night arrangements, dressing-room bouquets, and cast-party florals for Broadway tours, concerts, and galas
  • Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) — stadium suite arrangements, corporate hospitality installs, and celebration pieces for season-ticket holders
  • Parker & Otis — café-and-gift-shop arrangements for business lunches, special occasions, and everyday hand-delivered orders
  • NanaSteak — pre-show DPAC dinners, private-room celebrations, and wine-dinner florals
  • Mellow Mushroom — team dinners and informal celebration arrangements
  • Bull McCabes Irish Pub — retirement gatherings, milestone celebrations, team events
  • Bay 7 — 10,000 sq ft historic warehouse event venue; wedding, rehearsal dinner, and corporate-gala floral installations

For the ATC business community

The district’s tenants include GSK’s pharma operations, McKinney Advertising, American Underground (the startup incubator), and a dense cluster of creative agencies, nonprofits, and co-working spaces. We design for offices and events that happen inside them: seasonal lobby installations, conference-room arrangements, client-gifting that signals care, and launch-event florals that echo the calibre of the work being celebrated. For ongoing office arrangements, see our corporate florist program.

Occasions we compose for

  • Pre-theater dinners and post-show gatherings — table florals and delivered arrangements for DPAC-night celebrations at Parker & Otis, NanaSteak, and neighboring restaurants
  • Durham Bulls hospitality — suite arrangements, corporate game-night packages, team celebrations
  • Corporate client gifting and office florals — quarterly refresh programs, client appreciation arrangements, executive gifting, milestone celebrations across GSK, McKinney, American Underground, and other tenants
  • Product launches and networking events — startup pitch days, agency launches, nonprofit fundraisers that benefit from statement floral presence
  • Weddings and rehearsal dinners at Bay 7 — ceremony arrangements, reception centerpieces, installation pieces for warehouse events
  • Restaurant openings and chef collaborations — new-concept launches, tasting-menu dinners, seasonal programming at district venues
  • Loft-resident home décor — subscription arrangements for ATC’s luxury loft tenants who expect the same craft in their flowers as they do in the rest of their home

How we work

We’re a studio, not a volume operation. European training shapes the work — restraint over stem count, structure over commodity, seasonal materials over year-round sameness. Every arrangement is composed by hand. For corporate clients we work by brief — we understand the space, the occasion, and the feeling you’re after, and we show up on-site if the event calls for it. For recurring office florals, our subscription program refreshes weekly or bi-weekly. We deliver across Durham and the wider Triangle, including downtown and the ATC campus.
